Yes. Continuing education training offerings (CEs) are available through the LMS and at approved events and seminars.
For more details on specific CEs, view the steps in “I’ve seen different acronyms used to refer to CEs. What’s the difference?”
-
Spark Training provides CEs for skills-based training. CEs are not provided for policy, orientation, or forms training at this time. To know if a course provides CEs, view the steps in “How do I see my CEs in the LMS?”
-
Spark Training does not report CEs to licensing boards. To receive continuing education credit, submit your certificate of completion and/or relevant transcripts to your licensing board/CE authority.
Reach out to your supervisor if you have questions on how to submit your CEs for approval.
-
You can download proof of the CEs you’ve earned on the LMS in 2 ways:
1. Directly through the course
a. After completing the course, there is an option to download a certificate.
2. Through your transcript
a. Navigate to your Transcript from the User Menu.
b. Navigate to the Courses tab in your Transcript.
c. If the course offers CEs, the number of CEs will be listed in the Credits (CEUs) column.
d. You can download a certificate for completed courses by clicking the award ribbon icon in the Score column.
Reach out to help@sparktraining.us for help navigating the LMS.
If CEs are not available, you will not see an option to download a certificate and there will not be an award ribbon icon in your transcript for the course. If either option is available, the course offers CEs.

Item dContinuing Education (CE): Educational requirements for professionals by a state board or membership organization. Generally, one continuing education credit, or CE, is equal to 1 hour or 50 minutes. Requirements vary by state.
Continuing Education Unit (CEU): Non-trademarked term used to show involvement in professional development activities. “CEU” does not mean a training is state-approved.
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE): Applies to nurses and nurse practitioners. Must be validated or approved by a nationally recognized agency or a state nursing board. Spark Training is an approved provider of CNE by the Iowa Board of Nursing (IBON). As a general rule, states will accept training approved by another state’s board of nursing. Spark Training’s CNE is accepted in most states.
Continuing Medical Education (CME): Applies to physicians. Few states require nurse practitioners to have CMEs. Some states allow nurses/nurse practitioners to use CME. Spark Training partners with the American Academy of Family Physicians to approve CMEs, which are accepted in all states.escription

Individual requirements vary by state, but most states require CNE for nurses and nurse practitioners. Physicians and physician assistants are usually required to obtain CME. Check with your licensing agency or reach out to help@sparktraining.us for help determining your requirements.
